American Apparel® at the 2025 Rolling Stone Awards Night
On April 9, American Apparel® returned to the Rolling Stone Awards Night at The Ivy, Sydney — this time as the official naming sponsor. It was a star-packed night celebrating the legends and rising stars of Australian music, and American Apparel® showed up ready to make it unforgettable.
Our limited-edition merch activation turned heads, with a booth built entirely by hand from custom-branded black milk
crates — a nod to the creative spirit of music culture. We dropped two exclusive, music-inspired designs by local
legend Sindy Sinn, screen-printed on our new
9001 Super Heavyweight T-Shirt
. Made from a premium blend of 80% ring-spun cotton and 20% polyester, the 9001 delivers a structured, heavyweight
feel you can count on — built for the stage, the street, and everywhere in between.
The night began with the On The Record panel, an insightful discussion where three brand leaders, including our own David Hillen, Director APAC, sat down to share their experiences about how partnering with culture-leading media platforms can help transform brands into lasting cultural icons with real relevance within the community. It was all about keeping it real, building community, and staying iconic.
We also officially dropped the American Apparel® StAArt Up Fund , an initiative dedicated to supporting the next generation of Australian music talent. We’re awarding eligible artists up to $10,000 worth of custom merchandise along with an exclusive feature story on our platforms to help level up their personal brand and get their name out there. Applications are open now and close May 15, 2025. Head to our website to apply .
Music was front and centre all night, with killer sets from Rolling Stone Icons ICEHOUSE, Best New Artist nominee Becca Hatch, and award winners 3%.
Host Nic Kelly summed it up best:
“What a night for the music industry! It was a privilege to be part of the American Apparel Rolling Stone Awards — a celebration of the artists, music workers, and industry legends who keep our culture alive. Congrats to all the winners and to Rolling Stone Australia for putting on an epic show.”
